Oral Cancer Walk 2018
On Saturday, August 25, Dr Josephine Chang Pallotto hosted the second annual Oral Cancer Foundation Walk/Run for Awareness in Memory of Susan Chang alongside the Chicago Dental Society, the ADA, the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center, and multiple other sponsors. The walk was created in honor of Dr. Chang Pallotto's late mother who suffered from a form of oral cancer. With oral cancer on the rise, the goal of the walk is to stimulate awareness in hopes of catching the disease in its early stages to increase survival rates.
What Is the Oral Cancer Walk?
The walk included free oral cancer screenings from 2 head and neck surgeons, an oral surgeon and a maxillofacial prosthodontist. Other awesome parts of the walk included a kids zone with Hadley, bubbles and a balloon artist, a fun raffle, and an amazingly revitalizing yoga session.
Thank you to all those who came out to support the cause. Altogether there were over 100 participants that fund-raised over $26,000! We are looking forward to an even bigger turn out in 2019!
